The department of radiology in Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital (KMH) has equipped with the leading technology and improved its standard to multi specialty conditions to offer various imaging services for the diagnostic and as well as for the interventional radiology services.

Radiology is the branch of medicine that uses X-rays and other radiations to treat and diagnose the diseases. The imaging services offered in Dr.KMH includes:
Digital X-rays is the original and most commonly used form in the diagnostic imaging. Imaging produced shows the structures within the body which absorbs more X-rays particularly bones.

Ultrasound Scan is the procedure used to create an image of parts inside human body using the high frequency sound waves. It is used to monitor an unborn baby, in diagnosis and surgeons during certain procedures. It is also called as Sonography.

CT Scan (Computerized tomography) is the type of an advanced X-ray examination that obtains digital image of the body using a thin X-ray beam. It is used to obtain multi-dimensional or 360 degree of image of a particular structure of the body by using X-ray information with the high speed computer. MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is often used to examine brain and spinal cord, bones and joints, breasts, heart and blood vessels by producing two or three dimensional images of the inside human body using magnetic fields and radio waves.

Fluoroscopy is an imaging technique used to obtain moving images of internal structures of the patient. The fluoroscopic images are taken with the help of fluoroscope, where the patient placed between the radiation source and fluorescent screen. It is used in following situations:

PET (Positron emission tomography) scan used to produce detailed three-dimensional image of inside parts of the human body using X-rays. It is used in the investigation of abnormal areas in cancer treatment and helps to plan operations like coronary artery bypass graft and brain surgery. Mammography used in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases in women using the X-rays. The device used in this technique is called mammogram. Echo or Echocardiogram is a type of an ultrasound scan with uses high frequency sound waves to look at the heart and nearby blood vessels.
